The Nest Thermostat E works with the most common two-wire HVAC thermostat connections; has a bright, high-contrast display; and is compatible with Google and Alexa smart-home systems.
Ecobee SmartThermostat with Voice Control
Ecobee’s SmartThermostat supports multiple individual room sensors, meaning that system adjustments are computed according to the temperature in rooms that are actually occupied. This more accurately optimizes heating and cooling temperature adjustments versus a single sensor installed at one place inside the house. Ecobee also incorporates an Alexa (Amazon’s home-automation system) speaker to support voice control for all HVAC functions, as well as stream music and podcasts and control other Alexa-compatible devices.
Emerson Sensi Smart Thermostat
A more budget-minded option, Emerson provides most of the benefits of higher-priced, smart-thermostat technology at nearly half the cost. The Sensi supports geofencing and sends text messages about extreme temperatures or humidity conditions in the house, in addition to regular maintenance reminders. It’s also compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Siri home-automation systems.
