Reasons to Purchase HVAC Replacements Before Summer

Reasons to Purchase HVAC Replacements Before SummerThe best time for an HVAC replacement isn’t when you didn’t expect to need one. An aging air conditioner or furnace abruptly conking out, stranding you without cooling or heat at the worst possible time, is the kind of surprise you can do without.

For best results, you should start thinking about HVAC replacement as the system approaches the end of its expected service life and/or issues like the following begin to crop up:

  • Higher monthly operating costs with no obvious reason.
  • Inconsistent temperature control.
  • Indoor humidity problems: too humid in summer, too dry in winter.
  • Service calls and repairs more frequent and more expensive.

Good HVAC replacement timing means seizing buying opportunities available during the off-season. In cooling and heating, business volume fluctuates according to the time of year. Springtime sales are generally slower and installations are fewer.

For the consumer, that presents potential advantages such as:

Manufacturers incentives.

Major HVAC brand names want consistent sales in all weather, not just summer heat and winter cold. To maintain a high profile in the slow season—basically April through June 1—manufacturers often offer price cuts, rebates and other incentives.

Wider choice, better availability.

When summer temperatures and A/C demand spikes, the most reputable brand-name air conditioners with the most desirable features may not be available. To get the best choice from the widest selection, a planned purchase during the off-season is better than taking your chances during a heat wave.

Prompt installation.

HVAC contractors like to keep skilled, experienced field technicians busy and employed year-round. In spring, when they’re not tied up by the high volume of installations and emergency service calls, technicians are more available for scheduled installation at any time that’s most convenient for you—not simply when you can be squeezed into the seasonal rush.

Comfortable transition.

Living without A/C during installation of a new system in springtime’s mellow weather is no sweat. A day without cooling during the dog days of summer is something else.

If it’s the right time for HVAC replacement it’s time to contact Paitson Bros., your source for quality cooling and heating since 1922.
