Keep It Green With a Solar Energy System

Keep It Green With a Solar Energy SystemThe sight of another solar energy system being installed is common these days. More homeowners are recognizing the economic and environmental benefits of plugging into the free, unlimited source of power from the sun. Grid-tied systems sell surplus daytime solar power generated by the home solar energy system back to the electric utility for a monthly credit that can dramatically reduce utility costs. Meanwhile, nighttime power remains constantly available from the grid. As photovoltaic solar panels become more efficient, installing and integrating solar into your existing home power system is seamless and streamlined.

Solar power continues on a roll, as 2013 was another record year for installations with over 140,000 new systems installed in the U.S. Nearly 450,000 solar photovoltaic systems are already in operation, and the total amount of solar capacity produced by private installations in the country is enough to power 2.2 million homes.

Still, some homeowners prefer to transition gradually into the advantages of solar power. Solar-ready air conditioning is a good example of meeting the comfort and efficiency needs of the present while making provisions for future upgrades like a solar energy system. An efficient solar-ready A/C or heat pump runs off standard AC grid power, keeping your home cool and comfortable while providing higher efficiency than an existing A/C.

In addition, solar-ready air conditioners and heat pumps are a platform that come pre-configured with all the technology required to be connected to a solar energy source whenever you’re ready. You can phase into sun-powered cooling gradually, incorporating anywhere from a single dedicated solar PV panel up to a full-size array.  When the time is right to make solar energy part of your home, the HVAC system will already be fully enabled to make the switch.

Since 1922, Paitson Bros. Heating and Air Conditioning has kept homeowners of the Wabash Valley ahead of the curve in advancements in cooling and heating technology. Ask us for more information about a solar energy system for your home.
