How Can You Influence Efficiency? Try Dual Fuel Systems

Temperatures in Terre Haute can range from scorching hot in the summertime to freezing cold in the wintertime. With such temperature extremes, along with rising energy costs, homeowners in this area are always looking for ways to influence efficiency in the heating and cooling of their homes. A dual fuel system might just be the money-saving solution that you are looking for.

If you use gas for heating, you may want to consider replacing your central air conditioner with a heat pump.  In addition to providing cooling during the summer, a heat pump is VERY efficient at providing heat for your home when the outdoor temperature is above 30 degrees in the winter.

On days that are colder than 30 degrees, a heat pump is not as efficient at warming your home as a gas furnace. Most days in Terre Haute, however, are warmer than 30 degrees, so using a gas furnace for all of your heating needs can lead to unnecessarily high gas consumption and more energy bills to worry about. A dual fuel system will allow your home to have the best of both worlds – the low operation cost of a heat pump and the heating power of a gas furnace.

Due to a dual fuel system’s ability to switch between power sources depending on heating needs, you can save up to 30 percent on your energy bills over the life of the system.

The qualified professionals at Paitson Bros. Heating & Air Conditioning can answer all your questions and help you determine dual fuel products are right for your home.
