Your Annual Service Check: Why Twice A Year Is Better

It’s easy to forget about your HVAC system. After all, it is out of sight and out of mind. But while it does its work “behind the scenes,” it also keeps you comfortable day in and day out. Any system you rely on every day needs regular maintenance and tune-ups.

Over time, equipment naturally accumulates dust, dirt and other contaminants, rendering it as much as 25% less efficient, and even decreasing its life span.

After your home and car, your HVAC system represents your most expensive investment as a homeowner. Just as regular oil changes and tune-ups maintain your car, annual service performed twice a year is the best way to care for your HVAC system.

Service needs to be performed twice a year to keep equipment operating at maximum efficiency.

At the start of the cooling season, service can address:

  • Installing clean AC filters
  • Lubricating the AC motor
  • Cleaning the AC coils so they will not freeze up
  • Checking refrigerant levels
  • Safely turning off the furnace pilot light to save energy
  • Cleaning the furnace, fan, ducts and registers to remove accumulated debris (such as soot from a fireplace)

At the start of the heating season, service can address:

  • Changing the furnace filters
  • Safely turning on the furnace pilot light
  • Lubricating the furnace motor
  • Checking the heat exchanger in the furnace
  • Cleaning all furnace components to ensure safe operation
  • Cleaning the AC, ducts and registers to remove debris from the cooling season

Becoming a member of a planned service agreement ensures you’ll get the service you need twice a year, as well as priority attention any other time you need it. Maintenance agreements also offer loyal customers discounts on repairs and replacement parts. Contact Paitson Bros. for more information. We’re happy to keep you comfortable!
